BISHOP KENNY HIGH SCHOOL COMMUNITY SERVICE REQUIREMENTS

Bishop Kenny students understand that religious education does not stop at the threshold of the classroom door. The Gospel calls us to the values of compassion and service to those in need. This both requires and involves interaction with the community in which our students live. Community Service is central to what Bishop Kenny stands for as a Catholic community.

Therefore all students must complete a minimum of 25 hours of community service each year they attend Bishop Kenny High School. Many students perform in excess of 100 hours of community service annually.

There are multiple opportunities provided in the Bishop Kenny NJROTC program to earn these community service hours. Some of the upcoming service events for our NJROTC Cadets are listed below.

Home Football Game Parking

Bishop Kenny NJROTC Cadets serve as parking directors for all home football games as well as providing a Color Guard and Flag Detail for the opening ceremonies. Any cadet who wishes to participate in this service activity should sign up in the NJROTC Classroom by the begining of the school day Friday morning the day of the game via their NJROTC Schoology Group Link. The day of the game, cadets should be in the NJROTC classroom at 4:30 p.m. to attend the brief. The service opportunity ends at 8:00 p.m. At this time cadets are relased to attend the game and/or go home.
