Armed Drill Team

The NJROTC Armed Drill team represents Bishop Kenny both on and off campus. The Armed Drill Team uses the de-militarized version of the Garand M-1 and the M1903 Springfield. Competitions against other High School Drill teams are held at various schools that have JROTC programs. These competitions require students to demonstrate knowledge of and properly execute both basic and exhibition drill routines. For practice times contact the team commanders. 

Unarmed Drill Team

The NJROTC Unarmed Drill team represents Bishop Kenny on and off campus. Competition against other High School Drill teams are held at various schools that have JROTC programs. These competitions require students to demonstrate knowledge of and properly execute both unarmed basic and unarmed exhibition drill routines. For practice times contact the team commanders. 

Color Guard

The NJROTC Color Guard members represent Bishop Kenny both on and off campus. They travel on trips to ​competitions against other High School Color Guards and represent Bishop Kenny at various military and civic activities in the Jacksonville area. The Color Guard also performs at Bishop Kenny athletic events. For practice times contact the team commanders.

Athletic Team

The NJROTC Athletic team consists of cadets who want to be part of a group exercise program. They exercise together to help each other stay physically fit. Competition against other High School NJROTC Athletic Teams for team and individual awards are held at various schools and colleges that have JROTC programs. For practice times contact Cadet Zanti.

Academic Team

The NJROTC Academic team represents Bishop Kenny in regional and national competitions. Academic competitions are conducted via written tests both on campus and during field meets held at various schools that have JROTC programs. Additionally, postal matches (via US Mail) are conducted on a nationwide basis. The competition covers a broad area of general knowledge related to the Naval Science curriculum, as well as SAT/ACT material. The Academic Team is open to academically qualified NJROTC cadets from grades 9-12. Teams are made up of from five to 15 members. Cadets joining the Academic team are expected to make a commitment of time and effort for the practice sessions and self-paced study throughout the year. Practices are held on school day mornings before school in the NJROTC classroom and occasionally have practice modules in the afternoon

Orienteering Team

The NJROTC Orienteering Team represents BK in competitions throughout NJROTC Area-12 (North Florida and Georgia). The competitions cover a broad area of general land navigation skills. The Orienteering team involves the participant in environmental awareness, in physical fitness, in map reading skills, in compass usage, in mental visualization, indecision-making, in leadership, and in small-group competition. Marksmanship Team

The NJROTC Marksmanship Team represents BK in competitions nationally, as well as throughout NJROTC Area-12 (North Florida and Georgia). The cadets employ air rifles and the events cover a broad area of general marksmanship skills. The Marksmanship Team stresses mental discipline, concentration, the ability to relax under pressure, and stamina. For practices contact the team commanders.

Cyberpatriot Team

CyberPatriot is an Air Force Association (AFA) funded program designed to teach students about social security. With the rate in which access to the internet is growing, there is also a rise in threats to our privacy. These security threats and breaches are almost always linked to user negligence. CyberPatriots' purpose is to raise awareness on the importance of cybersecurity to ensure that our future generations can safely thrive- offline and online. 

Drone Team

The NJROTC Drone Team was formed during the 2018-2019 school year, and has grown to 10 members. Our goal is to have at least 12 members on the team in order to form three separate teams of four cadets. The Drone Team attends competitions in Area 12 (North Florida and Georgia).
